A $75 million bond package approved by voters on Nov. 3 is already being implemented by the city of Corpus Christi, a vast difference from past bonds, which have often taken several years to get underway.
The reason is that City Manager Peter Zanoni has tightened the approval and implementation process by packaging the projects together rather than sending them to the City Council one at a time.
For example, Zanoni plans to release a request for park projects in December, which should be available for council consideration in March, and design in April. Also included in the 2020 bond package are street improvements, designs for Fire Station No. 3 on Morgan Street, and a new police training academy near Del Mar College Southside.
