If you want to do some good in the world while also shopping for inspiring and unique Christmas gifts, mark your calendar for the annual YWCA Corpus Christi’s Yuletide Luncheon and Market. The annual fundraiser for the YWCA is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center, 402 Harbor Drive in Corpus Christi.
Proceeds from the luncheon support YWCA programs, all of which are aimed at furthering the mission to eliminate racism and empower women.
The market features about 25 local merchants selling a variety of one-of-a-kind items, including artwork, Christmas ornaments, and other custom-designed items.
“We will have something for everyone,” said YWCA Corpus Christi President Nancy Wesson-Dodd.
The luncheon keynote will be delivered by Sheila Robinson-Kiss, a licensed, credentialed social worker and motivational speaker. The author of five books, Robinson-Kiss calls herself a social entrepreneur “focused on advancing mental health and wellness initiatives.”
“She will talk about the power of resiliency,” said Wesson-Dodd, adding that last year’s Yuletide Luncheon was held shortly after a Category 4 hurricane struck the Coastal Bend. “She offers affirmation about how far everyone has come since Hurricane Harvey.”
Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased online at ywcacc.org or by calling (361) 857-5661. Market-only tickets, which are $5 for you and a friend, may be purchased at the door.
