Del Mar College wants public input as it rebrands its three campuses, including the new Southside campus due to be completed in 2022. The community college will not change its name or mascot, Valdar the Viking. Also in the mix for change: the interlocking letters logo.
“Community stakeholder input is invaluable to our rebranding process, so the college hopes individuals can join us for any of the three public focus group sessions offered to support this initiative,” said Lorette Williams, Del Mar’s executive director of Communication and Marketing. “Everyone’s input will have a lasting impact for generations to come.”
Focus groups will be held online Tuesday, March 30, and Wednesday, March 31. On Tuesday, two sessions will be held, one at noon and another at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, the only session will be at noon.
To attend, access the sessions five minutes before the beginning of each meeting. Links can be found at delmar.edu/rebrand.
The school’s advertising agency of record, Anderson Marketing Group, has already begun gathering input from internal stakeholders.
Those attending will learn more about the rebranding process while also providing input on the naming options for the three campuses. The final names will be considered sub-brands of Del Mar’s overall brand. The new names are expected to be finalized by the board at its August meeting.
