Driscoll Children’s Hospital recently met a $16 million challenge in its biggest fundraising and expansion effort ever. After successfully raising $15 million, the Mabee Foundation Challenge Grant provided an additional $1 million.
“We have crossed the $16 million mark and hit our goal for our first-ever capitol campaign,” Driscoll Board Chairman Sam Susser told reporters. “It’s a huge push forward for us and will do great things toward helping us provide more care in Corpus Christi and the entire South Texas region.”
The $100 million remodeling and expansion plan, known as The Future’s Bright campaign, includes a new North Pavilion, a larger and more modern pediatric intensive care unit, and two new operating room suites. It should be completed in two years.
