Fireworks will light up the night sky across the Coastal Bend on Sunday, July 4, as communities return from a year of pandemic lockdowns to celebrate America’s 244th birthday. 

CORPUS CHRISTI

The Mayor’s Fourth of July Big Bang Celebration is on for 9:30 p.m. July 4 in downtown Corpus Christi. Fireworks will be set off from a barge in Corpus Christi Bay just north of the Peoples Street T-Head. Shoreline Boulevard will be closed to ensure pedestrian safety.

The live show will run 20-21 minutes and be choreographed to music from local radio stations, including 92.7 FM, 95.5 FM, and 1440 AM. The show also will be broadcast live on Facebook. 
In the days leading up to the big show, several family-fun activities will take place along the bayfront, including a three-day block party and activities at both the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History and the USS Lexington.
The Peoples Street Block Party, hosted by creative agency PRODUCE and Latin Grammy-nominated DJ and producer El Dusty, takes place July 2-4.
On July 2 is a collaboration between the Corpus Christi ArtWalk and PRODUCE, which includes the opening of its new shop front with original clothing designs from local artists in the Coastal Bend. DJ Weasel, Chicas Rock, Quentin Arispe, El Dusty, and more will perform from 5-10 p.m.
July 3 brings local cinema and food to the downtown area with the Produce Picnic, which encourages attendees to bring their ice chests and blankets for viewing local short films and projects on the forefront of the art scene from 5-9 p.m.
July 4 concludes the festivities with the monthly Peoples Market on Peoples Street downtown from noon to 4 p.m. featuring local vendors, outdoor art installations, and the grand opening of Produce Gallery.
Enjoy drinks, food, games, and after-hours museum access while viewing the fireworks as the Corpus Christi Museum of Science History holds its Red, White and Blue Bash Fireworks Viewing Party from 7-10 p.m. at 1900 N. Chaparral St. Entry to this event is $30 for non-members and $25 for museum members. 
Tickets are available for purchase online. Each admission includes a freshly grilled meal and a beverage. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for viewing party guests. Parking is first come, first served.
You can also view fireworks at the USS Lexington’s Red, White and Boom event at 7 p.m. Food, beverages, snacks, beer, and wine are available for purchase. Outside coolers, food, or drink are not allowed. Bag checks are done at entry, and tickets are pre-sold online for $25 per person. Discounts for members and military with IDs.

PORT ARANSAS

The best place to view the fireworks at 9:30 p.m. in Port Aransas is just about anywhere around town! The explosions are set off from Roberts Point Park at 301 JC Bar Blvd. In case of bad weather, fireworks will happen the next day.
