Visitors Information Center volunteers hit the beaches in Gulf Carts

Gulf Carts carrying Gulf Coasters awarding prizes and handing out free gifts hit the streets and beaches this summer as the newest visitor engagement program launched by Visit Corpus Christi, the visitors and convention bureau.
“Our Gulf Carts will act as mobile visitor centers for those leisure travelers looking for information regarding current events or festivals taking place on the island and in Corpus Christi,” said Sammie Ramon, Leisure Engagement manager and head of the Gulf Coasters program.
The program is designed to enhance visitor experience, extend visitor length of stay in the Coastal Bend, and increase revenue for local attractions, shops, and restaurants. Gulf Coasters are volunteers who help spread the word about the fun things to do in the area, Ramon said.
“I’m beyond thrilled to finally share our new Gulf Coaster Gulf Carts with our amazing community and support our local partners at the same time,” Ramon said. “I truly believe we’ve created a new way to enhance visitor experience and instill city pride within our residents as well as our visitors.”
Gulf Carts can be spotted along the Corpus Christi beachfronts on Padre and Mustang islands.
The Visit Corpus Christi Visitors Information Center is located at 309 N. Water St., Suite D., in downtown Corpus Christi.
