The Back to Business Recovery Concert has a new location. Whataburger Field will host the the event held in partnership with Coastal Bend United and the Corpus Christi Hooks minor league baseball team. Concert dates are Nov. 2-3, while the carnival will be open Nov. 2-4.
Made up of six area chambers, Coastal Bend United formed recently to fight a 10 percent rate hike in windstorm insurance proposed by the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. Chambers involved include Corpus Christi, Aransas Pass, Ingleside, Port Aransas, Portland, and Rockport-Fulton.
Funds raised will be used to help businesses recover from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, a Category 4 storm that made landfall in the Coastal Bend on Aug. 25, 2017.
Special commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase along with a variety of food trucks. Live entertainment begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, with Rotel & the Hot Tomatoes. The Last Bandoleros take over the stage at 8 p.m. followed by Derek Spence “A George Strait Tribute Band” at 10 p.m.
Saturday’s entertainment includes Marcos Orosco Y Extremo at 6 p.m., Los Palominos at 8 p.m., and La Mafia at 10 p.m.
