The Corpus Christi IceRays have a new logo. Celebrating their 20th anniversary as a franchise hockey team, the IceRays announced they will be holding a variety of special events and promotions throughout the new season.
The 2017-18 season opens Sept. 15 in Topeka, Kansas, against the Roadrunners. The home opener will be played on local ice at the American Bank Center on Sept. 29 against the Odessa Jackalopes. Players report to camp in Corpus Christi on Aug. 25.
The IceRays began in 1997 as part of the Western Professional Hockey League. As of 2010-11, they have been a junior franchise team in the North American Hockey League. The team has averaged 3,000 fans per game in 18 of its past 19 seasons, leading the NAHL in attendance in the past four years.
Designed in-house, the commemorative logo incorporates the city’s skyline and will be used on players’ jerseys and merchandise.
Season tickets are now on sale by calling (361) 814-7825 (PUCK).
