The first step in opening the long-awaited Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay in Robstown — a job fair — happens Jan. 26-27 at the Richard M. Borchard Fairgrounds, just across the road from where all the shopping will happen. The outlets are expected to be ready by March 1 when a VIP early shopping fundraiser welcomes the first guests.
The two-day job fair at the fairgrounds, 1213 Terry Shamsie Blvd., is noon-5 p.m. each day. Available jobs include retail store managers, store leads, key holds, sales representatives, maintenance and janitorial.
Applicants are asked to come dressed professionally with résumès and valid identification in hand. Applicants should also be prepared for on-site interviews.
Shops currently at the Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay are H&M, Brooks Brothers, Express, Guess, Toys ‘R’ Us, Sketchers, Journeys, Nike, Kay Jewelers, Zales, Amish Furniture Factory and more. When all phases of construction are concluded, the outlets are expected to have contributed 2,000 jobs — both construction and retail — to the region. The project should be complete by the end of 2018.
