Free trash drop-offs in Corpus Christi are the first Saturday of each month
Got junk? Corpus Christi residents can drop off unwanted household items for free at the city's Litter Critter events the first Saturday of each month. The next one is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 7 in the Calallen High School parking lot, 4205 Wildcat Drive.
The Litter Critter program is an opportunity to keep yards and homes cleaned up outside of regularly scheduled brush and bulky item pickup dates.
“It was important that we bring back Litter Critter for all Corpus Christi residents,” Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo said when the program resumed in June. “I promise this is just the start of beautifying our city, an effort I’m deeply passionate about."
Accepted items include appliances, discarded metal, small furniture, tires, and yard brush. Prohibited items include ammunition, concrete construction materials, dead animals, hot ashes, hazardous materials, and paint.
Future Litter Critter drop-offs are on the following dates:
- Oct. 2, West Corpus Christi
- Nov. 6, South Corpus Christi
- Dec. 4, Midtown
Residents planning to drop off trash should refer to the city’s Solid Waste Department website for a complete list of accepted items.
