Measure your tote bags. This one may be too big to take to the movies at Cinemark theaters, including the one in Corpus Christi. A new nationwide bag policy limits bag size to 12″ x 12″ x 6″.
Leave those big bags (and outside snacks hidden inside) at home or in the car when you go to the movies at Cinemark 16 in Corpus Christi. The movie theater chain recently changed its bag policy, adding restrictions on bag sizes.
According to the national chain’s website bags or packages measuring larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches (the size of most tote bags) will not be permitted in the theater unless they are medical or diaper bags. The new policy took effect Feb. 22.
The American Bank Center implemented a much stricter bag policy two years ago. No briefcases, backpacks, diaper bags, fanny packs, computer bags or purses larger than a clutch are allowed in unless they are transparent. The American Bank Center issued the new policy in the wake of a terrorist attack in Paris that targeted an entertainment venue and resulted in more than 100 deaths.
Both companies stated the safety of their guests and employees as their reasons behind the policies.
