The Corpus Christi Visitors Center has gone mobile. While headquarters remain in Heritage Park, the Convention and Visitors Bureau now has a new Mobile Visitors Center van wrapped in beautiful beach scenes to criss-cross the state with news of the Coastal Bend’s vacation wonderland. “We’re excited to expand our services with the new Mobile Visitors Information Center, which allows us to reach out to more potential visitors,” said Paulette Kluge, the bureau’s CEO. “We think this new service also will allow us to share information about our beautiful city and its multiple attractions.”Starting at the San Antonio Boat Show on Jan. 4, the van is scheduled to visit 13 cities across the state over the next year. It will also attend 17 festivals with a possible outreach to about 580,000 people, who will soon learn just how great it is to spend time in Corpus Christi. When not on the road to festivals and cities, the Mobile Visitor Information Center will be set up on Padre Island for Spring Break and during the summer months. It will sell beach permits and beach amenities such as beach towels, sunglasses, sunscreen and souvenirs. Other places you might find the van are the Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay, Port Royal Ocean Resort and Convention Center, the American Bank Center, La Palmera shopping district and more. It also contains props for selfies to promote social media use of #SeeCC, a rapid phone-charging station, and TV screens for videos and interactive presentations.“The Mobile Visitor Information Center allows us to engage with visitors outside our Corpus Christi location,” said Meredith Darden, manager of the Corpus Christi Visitor Information Center. “We are proactively going to our visitors to help them plan a better experience when they arrive in Corpus Christi.” The Corpus Christi Visitors Information Center is located at 1581 N. Chaparral St. in downtown Corpus Christi across from the American Bank Center.
