Ollie’s Bargain Outlet located in the old Toys ‘R’ Us store at 1220 Airline Road opened for business Wednesday, April 15.

The empty Toys "R" Us store at 1220 Airline Road in Corpus Christi will soon become an Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, which plans to hire 45-55 employees. The 44,000-square-foot space, which last housed the temporary pop-up store Spirit Halloween, is expected to be completely renovated and open to the public in April.
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet promises “Good Stuff Cheap” as its motto. It sells closeout merchandise and excess inventory from other retailers.
“Our 345 ‘semi-lovely’ stores sell merchandise of all descriptions and some beyond description,” according to the company’s website. Ollie's sells merchandise from the United States and abroad, mainly overstocked items or those in old packaging after a product makeover. The chain, which has five other outlets in North Texas, also buys up stock when other companies liquidate.
The store sells food, housewares, home textiles, flooring, books, stationary, toys, sporting goods, pet supplies, health and beauty, lawn and garden, clothing, and more.
Headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the chain has more than 245 stores in 25 states.
