Harbor Bridge Project lane reduction affects traffic
Construction on Corpus Christi’s Harbor Bridge Project will affect traffic downtown on Interstate 37 from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. Monday-Friday, March 22-25.
On March 22, interstate traffic will be reduced to one lane from Staples Street to Sam Rankin Street. Portable message signs will be in place to alert motorists of the lane reduction.
On March 23, all northbound Interstate 37 lanes will be closed from Mesquite Street to Staples Street. Motorists will need to follow a detour that will be in effect through 6 a.m. Thursday, March 24.
Also on Thursday, the Northwest Loop Ramp from Martin Luther King Drive and southbound U.S. 181 to southbound Texas 286 will be closed. Detour signs will make drivers aware of rerouting.
Motorists are urged to be aware of the construction, consider using alternate routes, follow all traffic-control devices, and slow down in the work zones. All work is weather permitting.
