Still under construction, Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi continued to struggle with cash flow problems into 2015.

Located on Upper Padre Island, the new Corpus Christi Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort opened a small part of the park in 2014 but plans for a major grand opening sometime during the summer of  2015. Setbacks due to weather, expansions and cash flow issues delayed a 2014 opening.
The park will feature Schlitterbahn’s signature attractions, including a Torrent Tidal Wave River, swim-up bars, beaches and Boogie Bahn, an inland surfing ride.  A cleverly designed amphitheater centrally positioned in the park can accommodate both wet and dry patrons. Within 20 minutes, the wave pool that surrounds it can be drained to make way for up to 2,000 dry spectators.  For those looking for the ultimate adrenaline rush, the Soaring Eagle Zip Line rides and Skycoaster flights will deliver.
Park-goers can stay a day or a week in Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi’s beautiful lodging accommodations. Guests can enjoy three restaurants, including full-service dining at The Veranda, or fill up on fun eats at the various park snack shacks. A favorite feature for families are the ample picnic tables and a policy allowing patrons to bring their own food and drinks to the park — when they are fully open to the public.
