Note to Corpus Christi visitors: If you missed a chance for a selfie photo at the Texas Surf Museum, a sea wall miradore or didn’t catch any fish but wished you had a picture with some, you can take care of that problem at Corpus Christ International Airport.
The newly opened “See Corpus Christi Welcome Experience” was unveiled June 3 on the second floor of the airport. The free exhibit came about through a collaboration between the airport and Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Dignitaries lined up for their own selfies during the unveiling. The exhibit encourages posting photos on social media with the hashtag #SeeCC.
“It extends the reach of Corpus Christi all over the world,” Paulette Kluge, CEO of the CVB, told reporters at the event. “It’s a fun place for people to take pictures and send out to their friends.”
About 700,000 passengers come through the airport each year.
