Never mind Black Friday and Cyber Monday; Small Business Saturday celebrates the local shop owners and restauranteurs who have a vested interest in their communities and customers. This year, Small Business Saturday is Nov. 25, and the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce is hard at work organizing and promoting the locally owned shops and eateries in the city.
“They’re the places we call our own and can’t imagine living without,” said Dr. Gilda Ramirez, vice president of Small Business & Education for the chamber. “It’s these businesses and the people behind them that make our communities unique. And when they succeed, we all do.”
Locally owned businesses that want to be part of the Small Business Saturday shopping movement should contact Ramirez at gilda@unitedcorpuschristichamber.com or (361) 815-0957.
Business owners can also stop by the United Corpus Christi Chamber office at 602 N. Staples, Suite 150, to pick up free #SHOPSMALL promotion items.
To participate, shops and restaurants should follow these steps:
• Post Like A Pro On Social Media — Post photos to United Corpus Christi Chamber Facebook page, Facebook Live, Instagram, LinkedIn and more.
• Engage followers across all social networks with profile photos, cover photos and more. Don’t forget to add #SHOPSMALL to every post!
• Shout Out the Day on Your Site – Create website badges and email templates to let customers know they can #SHOPSMALL in store or online on Nov. 25.
• Let Your Storefront Shine – Catch the eye of more customers with customized posters, event flyers and more.
“Small Business Saturday is about more than just shopping at local stores,” Ramirez said. “It’s about celebrating and sharing the small businesses that are part of our lives — from corner stores to food trucks to online boutiques.”
