Shoreline Boulevard becomes Fitness Lane on Saturdays

Northbound Shoreline Boulevard will close to vehicles to allow people to use the expanse of asphalt between Cole Park and the Art Center of Corpus Christi for social-distanced exercise every Saturday from 7-11 a.m. The 1½-mile “Fitness Lane” is part of Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront, a new health and fitness program created by Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni.
“Corpus Christi has a naturally beautiful backdrop for outdoor exercising,” Zanoni said. “This program will provide a safe opportunity for families to run, walk, bike, and take select classes to improve their health and wellness.”
Exercise and wellness events set up through a partnership with VFit Productions will be held at Water’s Edge park from Saturday, June 6, through Saturday, August 29. Classes in different fitness options will be available for free for ages 8 and older. Water’s Edge park is located at 402 S. Shoreline Blvd. Pre-registration is required (see below).
