Corpus Christie native James Gonzales opened The Post at Lamar Pub with his wife in 2015. The duo enjoyed the gastropub trend, but wanted to push the concept with a broad, appealing menu that paired well with hand-crafted cocktails.
Local Nigel Gilkes is a big fan of The Post’s brunch. “One of the best Sunday Buffets in Corpus Christi,” he writes on Google. “The deviled eggs are a must-try; a great blend of heat from the jalapeño, smoky from the truffle oil with just a bit of sweet. And did I mention they are topped with bacon!”
Adam Ray Copeland appreciates the child-friendly service. “I was nervous about taking my two boys to The Post,” he wrote on Facebook. He likes to dine out with his sons but was concerned that youngsters would not be welcome. “They are 9 and 7, and I wasn’t sure if The Post was kid-friendly. I called ahead to check, and they assured me it was fine. When we got there, the server began by clueing me into the entrees that my boys might be more interested in, which was quite helpful. The goat cheese on the steak tenderloin sandwich made the evening. We followed it up with funnel cake fries which were great (meaning they weren’t soggy). It was a great place, and we will be back.”
