The Hilton hotel chain announced plans to build one of its new Tru hotels near the Outlet at Corpus Christi Bay in Robstown. Tru hotels are touted at “vibrant, affordable and young-at-heart,” featuring large community areas in the lobby, free healthy toppings-based breakfasts and small but efficient rooms. For example, the TVs are big, but the desks are downstairs.
In partnership with Robstown Hospitality, LLC, and the Outlets, Hilton plans to break ground this summer. The hotel should be open by early 2020 after 18 months under construction.
The property will include 80 guest rooms, a fitness center and meeting space to rent for local events. The hotel will serve visitors to both the Outlets and the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds across the street.
