Make a trip along flag-lined Ocean Drive in Corpus Christi from 5-6 p.m. on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, to Honk your Horn for Your Heroes. Flags For Heroes Corpus Christi has once again lined walkways and roadways at Ropes Park, Cole Park, Oleander Point, and the Corpus Christi Bayfront with American flags in honor of the nation’s military veterans. Flags for Heroes sells sponsorships to the flags, which were raised Nov. 7. They will be removed on Nov. 15.
As a military community, Corpus Christi values its veterans. Here are some of the other public events in the area set for Veterans' Day on Nov. 11.

10 a.m.
SHERRILL PARK CEREMONY
222 S. Shoreline Blvd.
The Mayor’s Committee for Veterans Affairs sponsors this event, which includes music by the Veterans Band of Corpus Christi.

Noon
VIRTUAL CEREMONY
VETERANS LAND BOARD FACEBOOK
Hosted by Veterans Land Board Chair George P. Bush, the event features keynote speaker retired U.S. Army Major Gen. Albert C. Zapanta, the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce president and CEO.
