The creative community in Rockport not only survived after Hurricane Harvey, it thrived. The Rockport Art Festival, an annual art show featuring more than 120 juried artists from across the United States, returns for its 49th year July 7-8.
As one of the largest and most celebrated art festivals in the United States, hosting 10,000 visitors each year, the Rockport Art Festival showcases art in a variety of media, including paintings, jewelry, ceramics, woodwork, metal sculptures, and glass.
The annual festival attracts regional, statewide, nationally renowned, and award-winning artists. This year, more than 120 artists from Texas and across the United States were juried and selected to showcase their high-quality work.
“We are thrilled to bring the Art Festival back to the thousands of fans from across the Lone Star State that visit every year. This year will be even more special as Rockport gets back on its feet in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. We want Texans to come to the coast and find themselves in Rockport for the Fourth of July festivities,” festival chairwoman Karen Ernst said.
