Vote early, vote often in the Meet Me at the Park contest. Your votes — and you can vote daily throughout the month of April — could net Corpus Christi $20,000 to spend on park improvements. The city hopes to use the money on West Guth Park.
The contest is a project of the National Recreation and Park Association, a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing park, recreation and conservation to enhance the quality of life for all people. The NRPA promotes healthy and active lifestyles and equal access to parks and public space.
The winning city will be notified to choose the park that needs improvements the most. Notification happens sometime after nominations close April 30. Everyone voting will be automatically entered into a drawing for a tablet computer outfitted for outdoor use.
The National Recreation and Park Association is collaborating with The Walt Disney Co., including Disney Citizenship, Disney/ABC Television Group and ESPN, to revitalize parks across the United States for a third year with the Meet Me at the Park campaign.
Cast your vote daily at meetmeatthepark.org. Participants must be 18 years or older.
