The Fuddruckers in Corpus Christi will remain open despite the liquidation of Luby’s Inc., which owns and operates Luby’s Cafeterias, Fuddruckers The World’s Greatest Hamburger, and a culinary contract service business. The company is also selling all of its real estate. The two Luby’s restaurants in Corpus Christi will close.
The Corpus Christi Fuddruckers at 1949 South Padre Island Drive will remain open as part of the Fuddruckers Cafe Venture Co., a franchise company with locations in Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, Waco, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Albuquerque and Farmington, New Mexico. All of these will remain open.
“Fuddruckers looks forward to providing the World’s Greatest Burger for many more years to come and are so thankful for all who have supported and continue to support them during this difficult time,” reads a news release from the Fuddruckers franchise company.
According to a news release from Luby’s Inc, the parent company is expected to distribute between $92 million and $123 million to its stockholders before liquidation.
The two Corpus Christi Luby’s restaurants are located at 1520 South Padre Island Drive and 5730 Saratoga Blvd.
